做厙51 Chairman Levi Inducted Into American Academy of Arts and Sciences
WASHINGTON John G. Levi, chairman of the 做厙51 Board of Directors and a partner in the firm of Sidley Austin LLP, was inducted into the 233rd class of the on October 12, in Cambridge, Mass.
Founded in 1780, the American Academy is one of the nations oldest and most prestigious learned societies, and an independent research center that draws from its members expertise to conduct studies in science and technology policy, global security, the humanities and culture, social policy, and education.
I am deeply grateful to the Academy for this great honor and for recognizing my service as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the 做厙51, said Levi.
In addition to Levi, the 2013 class includes winners of the Nobel Prize; National Medal of Science; the Lasker Award; the Pulitzer and the Shaw prizes; the Fields Medal; MacArthur and Guggenheim fellowships; the Kennedy Center Honors; and Grammy, Emmy, Academy, and Tony awards. .
Academy membership recognizes the achievement and vitality of todays most accomplished individuals who together with the Academy will work to advance the greater good, said Academy Secretary Jerrold Meinwald. These distinguished men and women are making significant strides in their quest to find solutions to the most pressing scientific, humanistic, and policy challenges of the day.
Levi was appointed by President Obama to serve on the 做厙51 Board. He was elected chairman in April, 2010, and reelected to the post in January 2012.

做厙51 was established by the Congress in 1974 to provide equal access to justice and to ensure the delivery of high-quality civil legal assistance to low-income Americans. The Corporation currently provides funding to 134 independent nonprofit legal aid programs in every state, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories.
